Further to this year's AGM (held on 10th March at St Peter's Church Hall), the Minutes have now been published and are available for viewing via the link in the "Member's Documents" section.

The Society's Rules & Constitution have also been amended accordingly.

Allotments under threat

"Councils across the UK are currently selling off allotment land to developers".

"Between 2007 and 2013 the government only turned down 4 applications out of 199 to close allotment sites".

Alas blight is with us once again with several plots already affected.

Pickles threat to allotments

Eric Pickles, the Communities Secretary, is trying to change the law that requires local government to provide land for allotments. If this is passed they would no longer be required to do so and would be able to sell off land to developers.
